As a college student and athlete, I sought out yoga to help with the stress of school and the strain athletics put on my body. I began taking 4-5 yoga classes a week and fell in love with how I felt physically and mentally. After college, I started working as a medical assistant for a pain management doctor realizing how many people lived in chronic pain and didn’t make time to move their bodies. A couple of years into this job, I decided I needed to shift gears completely and help people more holistically. I had just graduated from massage therapy school and decided to take off for a yoga teacher training retreat in Guatemala. I lived on a yoga farm for 28 days learning yogic practices, asanas, and some ayurvedic modalities. It was an incredibly life-altering experience. When I teach yoga, I want students to feel capable and in tune with their bodies and minds. My classes offer a mix of Vinyasa and Hatha, challenging the body and then bringing it back to a resting state, all the while prioritizing breath. I hope that students leave feeling more at peace in their minds and more whole within their bodies.
